Acclaimed producer warner case has shared an evocative remix of multi-modal artist, Mouth Water’s single ‘Rise’.
Unveiled on 12 September, via Mouth Water’s recently launched imprint Through The Void Records, the remix is a stellar reimagining of the heart-felt original. New York-based artist warner case shapeshifts the original into a beautiful Indie dance offering which can be likened to the works of Tame Impala, Empire of the Sun and Mura Masa. The remix sees warner case gently increase the tempo, while adding vibrant textures and a groove-induced rhythm, primed for the dancefloor.
Sharing more about the remix, warner case revealed; “Making this remix brought me back to late 2000s blog haus, indie sleaze, and all the raw brilliance of that era. Dance music was grassroots and hungry, and a college kid with a blog could shape public opinion. It was a nascent, exciting time, and hopefully my remix does it justice.”
The original track was written as an ode to friendships that have ended or have been rekindled. It’s a stunning addition to Mouth Water’s already expansive catalogue, and showcases his evolution as an artist. Mouth Water divulged more on the inspiration behind the single; “I wrote this song thinking about the friends I shared so much with in the past who are no longer part of my daily life. It’s an open letter, a gesture of hope, because sometimes, even after long silences, we can come back together and create something meaningful again.”
