Sampler: Part Three arrived digitally on February 27, 2026, through Sheffield’s Black Beacon Sound. The label has brought together six independent musicians and producers from its extended family of past releases, events, radio platforms and creative networks for this final sampler. Focused on dance and electronic music, the project celebrates boundary-pushing sounds while directing proceeds to Hope and Homes for Children in Ukraine. Contributors include Throwing Snow, an Ireland-based artist whose dubstep, post-rock, ambient and breakbeat tracks have appeared on Houndstooth, Local Action and others, with live highlights at Sonar and Berghain; Liverpool DJ and producer dj jeans and a nice top (Shauna), whose jungle alias builds on support from Saoirse and her queer-focused label Working Classics; Zen the Sharpshooter, who first released on the label in 2016; Manchester’s Charlie Boy Manson; Dan G of Mondo radio and Unit 3 Sessions; Glasgow producer TreasureEdit; and Edinburgh’s ona:v from the Sisu platform.
The music spans a wide range of approaches. Throwing Snow offers compelling productions that are seeped in industrial textures and sophisticated melodic lines. dj jeans and a nice top channels jungle energy through her established club presence, providing a fresh listening experience. Zen the Sharpshooter teams with Charlie Boy Manson on boom bap hip-hop grounded in meditative beats and sharp wordplay, with the production leaning heavily on a nostalgic feeling through distorted synths and excellent sampling. Dan G supplies bass-driven club material with the kind of technical edge that has seen him share stages with Jamz Supernova and Joker, his track ‘raaah’, supplying a hypnotic beat as you transition to the latter part of the ep . On the techno side, TreasureEdit merges driving rhythms with soulful grooves to create a track that oozes a peak-time feel with its wet synths and droning bassline, and ona:v lays down a dynamic, hypnotic track featuring strong kicks and atmospherics that teeter on an otherworldly listening experience.
Beyond the sounds, Sampler: Part Three supports Hope and Homes for Children, an organisation working since 1994 to end child institutionalisation and reunite families across countries including Ukraine. The charity has assisted 128,435 people in the country since February 2022, including 74,287 children, through family-based alternatives, counselling and community aid. Every track remains exclusive to the Black Beacon Sound release for at least four weeks, encouraging wide sharing to maximise impact and keep independent UK music thriving.
