Diane Arkenstone is back with her new EP And Yet The Light Always Returns out 6th November via Neo Pacifica. A very prolific multi-instrumentalist and former opera singer, Diane has built an incredibly unique body of work across the New Age, ambient, Celtic, Native American and Americana genres. She’s released over 55 albums, has had chart success with Billboard and has amassed hundreds of millions of streams which has made her one of the most influential healing artists in the world. Her work has been collaborative with Enaid & Einalem, with David Arkenstone and Derek Nakamoto and as part of The DADA Project. Her music has been used by the American Heart Association and in the Aura Health app. She also runs a publishing company and her children’s story The Robe of Rainbow Feathers has been turned into a book, an audiobook and an award winning short film which won at the Santa Barbara International ShortFest.
The EP marks a return to Arkenstone’s roots in ambient music, unfolding across six tracks that navigate loss and adversity with an elegiac touch, yet sustain a meditative undercurrent of hope. Serving as a companion to The Soft Gravity of Letting Go, the collection is anchored by piano-led compositions, each shaped by the expressive energy Arkenstone channels directly from heart to hands.
The title track, ‘And Yet the Light Always Returns’, centers on a seamless blend of organic and electronic elements, with improvisational textures and a minimalist approach that unfolds into a spacious, unhurried narrative. Through gentle melodic motifs and purposeful simplicity, it creates a deeply immersive soundscape designed for mindfulness and profound relaxation.
Diane Arkenstone shared: “‘And Yet the Light Always Returns,’ means that even after loss, fear, loneliness or hardship, some source of hope, love, truth or inner strength survives. It is a reminder that darkness can cover the sky without extinguishing the sun. Any human suffering affects us all, and this album was written to be a comfort and a safe haven for all who listen. When I sit at the piano, the energy of my heart flows through my hands into each song. Every song was written from that light and strength.”
