BRUNETTO Emerges and Redefines Himself With Brand New EP, OOPARTS

Brunetto doesn’t drop music often, but when he does it lands fully formed. OOPARTS arrived November 14 on Beautiful Accident, six tracks that pick up exactly where Sheroine left off and then goes further into new territory. The Spanish producer has spent the last twenty years carving out his own corner of downtempo and abstract beats, and this EP is the clearest statement yet of what happens when he refuses to color inside anyone else’s lines.

Expect smudged trip-hop rhythms, broken-boombap hints, and layers of synth haze thick enough to lean on. There’s the nocturnal team-up with Ëda Díaz that feels like smoke curling out of a cracked window, plus a flipped Sheroine single now carrying bars from Young Quincy. The rest of the tracklist treats sampling as collage: ragga-dub pulses fold into off-grid percussion while atmospheric pads blur the edges. Nothing here sits still for long, yet the mood never breaks.

At just under half an hour, OOPARTS is tight, deliberate, and heavy with late-night gravity. Brunetto’s back, sounding more in control of his unique universe than ever.
