Born and raised in Hertfordshire, UK, surrounded by many of the early pioneers of the drum and bass and jungle genres, Earth Leakage Trip, otherwise known as El-Trip (born Neil Anthony Sanford)has been a prominent figure and pioneer of UK techno/hardcore scenes since 1991. El-Trip soon connected with producer Rob Playford of Moving Shadow Records and musician Simon Carter of Crystal Distortion, which lead up to El-Trip’s initially proposed aesthetic and sound, and has inevitably gone down in history for their debut release “No Idea” released by Moving Shadow Records. Soon after this, El-Trip was able to secure slots on numerous compilations with an electronic soul-infused sound, such as Telstar Records’‘Kaos Theory’ in 1992,featured alongside The Prodigy, Acen, Altern-8, 4-Heroand many more, as well as inclusion on Silent’s‘Fifty Years Of Sunshine’ in 1993, including Dr. Timothy Leary, Love Spirals Downwards, Psychic TV and more, respectively. Now currently residing between the US and the UK, El-Triphas since collaborated with many other exceptional producers and electronic artists; for example, Aluna Francis of AlunaGeorge, during the time of her acclaimed project, My Toys Like Me, among many others. El-Trip has alsoworked with prominent labels and imprints throughout the years, like Moving Shadow Records, Rising High Records and Good Looking Records, to name but a few.
The EP’s first hype and highlight track, titled “Yellow Beauty (ft. Roxana Haloiu)” is an absolute powerhouse of emotion, texture and atmosphere; kicking off with vibrant, echoic vocals and percussion – a smooth, sub-heavy bass courses through unsuspecting veins inevitably causing ethereal, blissed-out out moods. Roxana Haloiu’s provocative, yet fierce vocal presentation is hypnotic to say the least, leaving one drawing in comfort and daydreaming into the unforeseeable future.
