Neo-classical musician Olovson spins new song ‘Gyroscope’

Swedish producer Jacob Olofsson, better known as Olovson gives us a taste of his upcoming album with his new single ‘Gyroscope’  via his 1136 Diamond imprint. The single is accompanied by an adventurous music video in which we follow a hand-drawn protagonist through a maze of octaves as Olovson’s fingers narrate a progressive storyline that feels like a Picasso artwork comes to life. With fluttering topline melodies flitting above tastefully dissonant chords, Gyroscope’  builds tension towards his impending project, scheduled for release in late October.

Olovson and London-based animator Gabriel Böhmer have worked side-by-side to create a composition worthy of featuring at the Encounters Film Festival. With a  professional history working alongside well-renowned acts Frank Ocean, Dua Lipa and Camila Cabello, this multi-talented artist shows us another facet of himself, moulding a world out of child-like wonder.

I got the idea for the music video during a trip in Mexico. It’s about a child who finds a Gyroscope in his grandparent’s attic, and magic starts to happen when he spins it.” – Olovson describes the concept behind ‘Gyroscope’.
